Brookthorpe Lodge At Brookthorpe our mission is to provide high quality support services to people with learning disabilities, mental health and other social needs, which underpins our values and philosophy. Brookthorpe Lodge is located just outside of Gloucester, and around 5 miles from Stroud, in a semi-rural location. It can accommodate up to 12 people over 3 floors. We have a regular bus route which will take you in to Gloucester, Stroud and the heart of the Cotswolds. The home has several large communal areas which include a large TV lounge, a dining room, a conservatory which is a quiet area, ideal for reading, listening to music, playing board games, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet and beautiful views. We have a large kitchen with sufficient equipment provided to meet your culinary needs. Each person who lives at Brookthorpe has their own bedroom with an en suite and on the first and second floor there is a small kitchenette that can be used, for the bedrooms on these floors. We have a large garden to the side of the building which is enclosed and very peaceful on a summer’s day, we have plenty of space for growing plants and vegetables. At Brookthorpe, staffing is provided based on an individual’s needs, therefore each day could have a different number of staff working. There is usually a staff member in the house during the day and always at night. The Home Manager for Brookthorpe is Abbie McQuillan she mentors, coaches, and supports the staff team ensuring inclusive care is provided and everyone’s potential is reached. The individuals we support have access to a large range of activities these include: Accessing local gyms, pubs, and restaurants Joining in coffee mornings, disco’s, and activity days through the Kingfisher Church We are working on our garden and have vegetable patches so we can produce some of our own vegetables. We go swimming, bowling and regularly visit the cinema. Social enterprises Jamats day centre We also work with outside agencies to support individuals to access paid or voluntary employment. The staff at Brookthorpe also put-on in-house activities such as Bingo, Baking days, movie nights and pamper sessions, parties and discos. We hold regular house meetings with the individuals we support to discuss any changes they would like to happen, activities they would like to do and to get feedback on how they feel about the house.
