The Maples The Maples is a new service currently that is being set up for adults with Learning difficulties and mental health, providing a therapeutic environment for each individual to feel safe, supported and comfortable in their home. Our purpose is to provide individuals with support, guidance throughout day to day activities by role modelling positive relationships, promoting life long living skills with a realistic approach. We believe that building self-esteem and confidence can be the foundations of a happy person and therefore a happy home. The building itself is located on Gloucester Road, in Cheltenham here the individuals have the opportunity to step out their front door and all the amenities are only a few minutes’ walk or bus ride away. Cheltenham and surrounding areas are diverse and provide an abundance of activities, cinema, shops, cafes, music and alternative therapies and much more. This location is ideal for individuals to make the steps to independence and reaching their potential as there is a train station a stones throw from he Maples that can gain access to Gloucester and Bristol and many other places. The Maples maximum capacity is eleven bedrooms with en-suite each bedroom can be decorated in the occupants chosen style. Each bedroom has access to a toilet, shared bath and shower rooms, on each floor. The ground floor has a wet room with access to a sit down shower. The two large communal living spaces are extremely cosey which allows space for those to move around the house without feeling too claustrophobic. The kitchen is large and has a cupboard space for each individual within the home. A large garden with some benches with lots of potential for a veggie patch and flower garden. The self -contained flat which makes up for the twelfth bedroom is situated on the top floor. The idea of the flat is that it offers a good introduction to independent living without the worry. The ground floor can accommodate individuals who may have mobility challenges, with ramps leading to the side of the house. Our experienced staff team will work with each individual to promote where possible, activities, work experience, transition back into the community, health appointments and house hold tasks working together to build friendships in and out of the home.
